NO CASH FARES ACCEPTED ON BUSES
(From Tuesday 24 March)
CONTACTLESS, PUFFIN PASS AND CONCESSION ONLY DURING BOARDING
In light of recent guidance issued by Public Health in relation to the coronavirus situation, CT Plus has reviewed its operational practices to ensure the safety of its drivers and the general public.
In order to minimise boarding interaction and thereby reduce the risks associated with close public contact, we will not be able to accept cash payments on the buses from Tuesday 24 March.
Buses in Guernsey utilise contactless technology and also issue multi-journey products such as the puffinpass, student pass and concession pass as an alternative to cash fares. To make it easier for those few who do not have access to contactless, puffinpass or concessionary travel, the initial purchase price of a Pay and You Go ‘orange’ puffinpass will be reduced to £5. This card bought either from the Town Terminus Shop or on the buses would then give an initial 7 journeys.
We would advise that puffinpass products are registered at the online shop. Top-ups can then also be done online. A link to the online shop can be found at buses.gg.
Cash can still be used at the Town Terminus shop if that is the only way to buy a new card or top-up. Please be patient while the transaction is carried out.
Please also note that, in response to the recent restrictions of pubs and clubs, the Friday and Saturday night bus service will be suspended until further notice.
The operational changes regarding cash fares and the suspension of the Friday and Saturday night bus service have been agreed in liaison with Traffic and Highways Services.
The current enhanced bus and shop cleaning regime remains in place. Please call 700456 for any journey planning advice.
